AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL FIRE CADET CHAMPIONSHIPS
Welcome to the official website of the 2009 Australian National Fire Cadet Championships.
The establishment of these national championships in 2007 recognises the great importance of cadet or junior firefighters in Australia. The steady flow of enthusiastic and well trained young firefighters into the adult ranks is vital for the ongoing sustainability of our nation’s volunteer fire services.
Following on from the success of the inaugural championships, the format has remained the same with a few minor changes. In 2009, it is hoped that every state and territory in Australia will be able to participate.
This website will be the main tool for communicating developments as we approach the championships and also for photos and results during and after the event.
I hope that you will be able to support the youth of our fire services as they showcase their skills with great sportsmanship in the context of these championships. On behalf of the hosts, the NSW Rural Fire Service, and our principal sponsor, the NSW Rural Fire Service Association, may I invite you to join with us at Penrith Lakes in April 2009 for what will most certainly be the greatest gathering of cadet firefighters ever seen in Australia.
